Gong sound can be used to recalibrate the physical, emotional and spiritual bodies. It has a profound affect on our cardiovascular, autonomic, endocrine and immune systems.
It is an excellent therapy for stress related issues, depression, fatigue, anger and hostility, feelings of separation, loneliness and fear along with many other conditions related to lack of balance and harmony in the body. When played properly, the gong produces a whole spectrum of harmonics that are based on pressure waves. The gong sound vibrates the energy meridians in the body and brings them into balance. Don Conreaux, International Gong Master says,
“The gong is an instant remover of the obstacles people may have in their lives. To live in a big city can be difficult for some people. The gong lifts and removes them from this stress and they come back with a new perspective ... the gong sound draws anger and negativity out of a person like a vacuum.” He believes that if a person is having trouble resolving something on the physical plane, the gong will invite it to resolve on a spiritual plane. “The Gong is the first and last instrument for the human mind, there is only one thing that can supersede and command the human mind, the sound of the Gong. It is the first sound in the universe, the sound that created this universe. It’s the basic creative sound. To the mind, the sound of the gong is like a mother and father that gave it birth. The mind has no power to resist a gong that is well played.” Yogi Bhajan, Master of Kundalini Yoga |
Sound Healing is a physical phenomenon based on universal physical and biological principles. Sonic entrainment, where rhythmic vibrations of similar frequencies resonate in unison, can alter our energetic states affecting physiology, spirituality, emotional and mental condition.
The universal principles of sound mean you do not have to believe in Sound Healing to benefit from sessions. Sound is heard not only with the ears but felt with every cell in our body. Combining sound with sacred intention, using instruments or voice specifically focused on vibratory frequency rate, supports healing by synchronising the brain waves to achieve profound states of relaxation and restoring the normal vibratory frequencies that are in disharmony. Illness is regarded as a manifestation of disharmony in the body, an imbalance in the cells or specific organs. When our state of consciousness changes there is the potential to create shifts in perspective that affect a particular situation. Therapeutic Sound Healing has a wide range of applications and everyone has the potential to benefit. Through the release of tension and the subtle sonic vibrations it is possible for energetic blocks in body, mind and emotions to be dispersed, helping you to let go on all levels of being. Participants have reported better sleep, more balanced emotional states, clearer mind, and increase in spontaneous joy!
